• Position Title: Soydrink Packager
• Term: Permanent, Part-Time (1-2 days/week)
• Location: Vancouver, BC

Position Summary

General Accountabilities (All Positions)

• Reports any production abnormalities to Production Leadhands, such as unsafe working conditions, machinery problems, product quality problems or problems with raw materials / supplies.
• Exercises Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Adheres to company working standards.
• Maintains cleanliness and tidiness of the production floor and soybean unloading area.
• Follows work safe procedures and wears protective equipment as required.
• Ensures that no production supplies and materials are kept directly on the floor.
• Ensures all production supplies and materials are closed and sealed with tape after use.
• Teamwork with other employees and leadhands to meet the daily scheduled production volume.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Production Leadhands and Production Management Team.

Soydrink Packager (Specific Accountabilities)

• Ensures the final product net weight is above the required packaged weight with correct code date.
• Ensures that broken, cracked, chipped corner tofu is not packaged.
• Substitutes for others workers during meal break.
• Works together with Leadhands to ensure labels or films are centered on the packages and are sealed with no leakers. Leakers and unaligned film packages are to be kept separately in large baskets.
• Ensures all products are stacked on good, correct type of pallets and meets the "ti hi" requirement.
• Ensures proper rotation of soymilk tanks (first filled must be packaged first).

Working Conditions

• Available for pm shift work - ranging from 4:00 pm to 1:30 am.
• Working in the production plant 100% of the time.
• Required to lift 25 - 60 lbs material.
• Exposure to loud noises and wet working environment. (Personal Protective Equipment such as earplugs, gloves and apron provided by company)
• Required to wear a uniform, safety boots and personal protective equipment during work.

Related Experience

• Some experience in working in a food manufacturing plant is an asset.
• Some experience in working in an assembly line.

Other Requirements

• Physically fit
• Good knowledge of written and verbal Chinese a definite asset
• Some English is an asset
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good teamwork and team player
