Moist Chocolate Cake

Who would’ve thought? A chocolate cake made with tofu! By replacing the eggs and oil called for in the original recipe with a package of tofu dessert, you completely remove the cholesterol and drastically reduce the fat. Here’s to a guilt-free chocolate cake! Even the biggest tofu skeptic will not be able to tell… it’ll be your little secret.

Prep time: 40 min   Servings: 12  

INGREDIENTS

1 pkg (300g) Sunrise Tofu Dessert – choose between Original, Coconut, Banana or Almond
¼ cup water
1 pkg of any National brand chocolate cake mix

DIRECTIONS

1. Grease one 9 inch (23 cm) pan
2. Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC)
3. Purée tofu with a hand mixer
4. Mix in water
5. Slowly add cake mix to tofu while, mixing thoroughly.
6. Pour cake mixture into greased pan.
7. Bake for 30 – 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted into cake.
8. Cool cake in pan.  Slice.
