2011 Biggest Sunrise Tofu Fan Award

Welcome to the 2011 Biggest Sunrise Tofu Fan Award, where all of you (our Facebook Fans) are eligible to win. Show us you are our biggest fan by participating in our contest!

First, let’s talk about what’s up for grabs.

Our grand prize winner will receive an Apple iPad 2 with WiFi + 3G (32GB) valued at $750.

Second prize winner will receive a Kitchen Appliance Gift Card (valued at $200).

Third prize winner will receive a Sunrise Gift Basket (valued at $50, including free product coupons).

There is also a bonus prize of an iTunes gift card (valued at $50).

Plus, the very first entry will receive our Early Bird prize of our Vancouver Chefs Take On Tofu Cookbook (valued at $11.20).

Here’s How to Enter

There are 4 categories you may choose from to participate in. Read each category below, follow the steps and submit your entry on our Facebook Page to stand a chance to win. You may submit up to 4 entries but only 1 entry per category.

Categories

1.    Best Original Tofu Recipe

You say that you are our biggest fan? Prove that by showing us your original tofu recipe. Here are 2 ways to do it:

I.    Film a 2-5 minute video showcasing your original recipe. Tell us what you are making, the ingredients used (with Sunrise tofu, of course!), and the directions taken. To end it off, taste your recipe and tell us how good it is! Our judges love to live vicariously through you.

OR

II.    Take a photo of your recipe (completed dish) and posting the name of your recipe, directions and thoughts (make it sound delicious!) on our Facebook wall with the heading “Hey SunriseTofu, I’m Your Biggest Fan”.

Here are specific instructions and tips on how to post your video and photo.

For this category, preference will be given towards submissions that show higher effort and creativity in creating the recipe (eg, it takes more effort to video a recipe as opposed to taking a picture, unless you can prove otherwise to us). See Judging Criteria for full details (below).

2.    Best Tofu Musical / Dance

Sing a song, rap some lyrics, or do a little dance about how much you love Sunrise tofu. Film yourself and post the video on our Facebook Page or your YouTube Channel with the heading “Hey SunriseTofu, I’m Your Biggest Fan”.

3.    Best Tofu Child Actor

Do your kids or nieces/ nephews love tofu? If so, we’d love to see their reactions when trying a dessert tofu or dish that’s incorporated tofu into the recipe. Film their reactions and post the video on our Facebook page or YouTube Channel with the heading “Hey SunriseTofu, I’m Your Biggest Fan”.

4.    Best Supporting Actor

Film a friend or family member’s reaction to tasting a dish that is hidden with tofu and how they react when you reveal to them that it’s made with tofu. Often times, tofu is an unsuspecting ingredient inside a dish or recipe. Share your love of tofu with them and we want to see people’s reactions to knowing there is tofu inside the dish after they have tasted it.

Judging Criteria

Judging will based on the following criteria:

1.    Effort – 40%
2.    Creativity – 35%
3.    Entertainment value – 25%

Requirement: Proof of use of Sunrise Soya Foods’ products in photo or video.

How to win bonus points: The entry that garners the most no. of likes and generates the most amount of buzz (comments & shares by viewers) will stand to win a separate bonus prize.

Only one person will be selected as the grand prize, and two others will receive the second and third prize respectively. As the bonus prize is a separate extra prize, the grand/second/third prize winner could also possibly be the bonus prize winner.
 

Post a Video

There are two ways to post a video.

1.    Post the video directly on our Facebook Page by clicking on “video”. Then, under “say something about this video”, write down:
a.  “Hey SunriseTofu, I’m Your Biggest Fan”
b.    The recipe name and description

Tips for Videos:

1. K.I.S.S – Videos should be kept short and sweet; to-the-point. A general rule of thumb is to keep it no longer than 3 minutes, the longest being 5 minutes is the permitted length of a video.
2. If we can’t hear you, we can’t judge you – The audio portion has to be audible. Speak clearly into the camera.
3. Watch your language – Inappropriate language will result in ineligibility of the contest (read Contest Rules for full details)
4. Official language – While we celebrate the fact that our tofu fans come from various parts of the world, the language for all videos is to be in English only.
5. Keep your hands steady – shaky videos may be funny but hard to watch & judge!
6. A smooth flow – edit your videos (if necessary) to ensure a smooth flow of your video.

Tips for Pictures:

Remember: It is a requirement to show proof of use of Sunrise Soya Foods’ products in photo or video. That means, we want to see the actual packaging in the picture recipe - this can be in the background of your dish.
