The 33rd Annual Powell Street Festival, an August Long tradition, is fast approaching!
The festival will be held Saturday August 1st and Sunday August 2nd from 11:30 – 7:00pm at a temporary new location, Woodland Park at 700 Woodland Drive. The Powell Street Festival, an annual celebration of Japanese arts, culture, and heritage, is the longest running community arts festival in the Lower Mainland. This free event is open to the public; come one, come all! Highlights include dance, music, martial arts demos, an amateur sumo tournament, crafts, traditional displays, and of course, tons of mouth-watering Japanese food. Sunrise, as a proud sponsor of the event, will have its team out in full force! Drop by the Sunrise booth for some tasty tofu treats, with a Japanese twist.
Check out the recipes for the Fried Tofu with Miso Sauce and Tofu Ice with Matcha Green Tea Syrup that we will be serving up.

For more information about the Powell Street Festival, check out the event website. For Powell Street veterans, note that the event will not be held at its usual venue this year due to renovations at Oppenheimer Park. The event is only a few minutes away at Woodland Park. Check out the map here.
