This tasty fried tofu with Japanese inspired miso sauce, served up at the Powell Street Festival in Vancouver, makes a great appetizer or snack. Make it a complete meal by pairing it with some Japanese sticky rice and steamed veggies.
Prep Time: 15 minutes Marinate: 1 hour Servings: 9 servings of sauce
Fried Tofu
Pan fry in a non-stick frying pan either Sunrise Fried Tofu or Sunrise Homemade Style Fried Tofu in 1 Tbsp of oil until both sides are browned. Cut into smaller pieces if desired, to serve.
Miso Sauce
INGREDIENTS
2 Tbsp light miso paste
1 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 Tbsp rice vinegar
2 Tbsp grated ginger
¼ cup water
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Put all ingredients together in a bowl and mix well.
2. Let sit in refrigerator for 1 hour to allow the flavours to blend.
3. Serve as a dipping sauce with fried tofu. You can also spoon the sauce over the tofu before serving.
