Production Associate/Materials Handler - Full Time

This position’s main goal/task is to maintain (day to day, weekly, monthly, yearly) physical handling, supervision, accurate receiving, storing and shipping of product (raw and finished goods) to meet company standards of sanitation, safety, security and productivity. The incumbent will also control all materials flow in and out of the Production Department area according to company work instructions, standard operating procedures and ERP navision program.


  • Performs physical movement of materials from one area to another using forklifts or pallet jacks
  • Picks products for shipments ensuring accuracy of identification and quantity
  • Ensures all received materials are organized and distributed to the correct personnel or placed in storage areas
  • Generates production orders materials requisition reports from Navision ERP Program
  • Ensures there is appropriate management and control of inventory
  • Works with co-workers, supervisors, and planners to ensure all material is delivered on time
  • Promotes a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings
  • Compiles and adheres to HACCP, SQF and GMP standards, requirements and practices
  • Ensures quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality
  • Ensures work area remains clean and well organized
  • Develops, maintains and reports on KPI’s associated with inventory controls:
  • Trains employees on material handling and inventory best practices
  • Reports any raw materials shortage to the Production Management Team
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and participate or lead cross-functional initiatives to effect positive change


  • Work is mainly performed in the Vancouver Production Plant and Warehouse
  • Permanent full-time (40 hours per week) position
  • Able to work shifts (day/ afternoon) 
  • 15-min paid coffee break, 1/2-hour unpaid lunch break


  • High school graduate or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 1-year Production/Supply Chain experience
  • Food Industry work experience is preferred
  • Experienced Forklift Operator – Class 2 Forklift license is required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and control skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Strong teambuilding and motivation skills
  • Able to communicate and write in English
  • Ability to understand verbal Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is considered an asset
