Quality Assurance Manager - Full Time

The Quality Assurance Manager oversees the general quality and sanitation functions in the production plant. The manager will also formulate quality policies and programs and provide guidance and feedback to production. These programs will be designed to meet operational plans, customer expectations and regulatory governances.


  • Supervises, trains and provides ongoing mentorship to QA technicians and sanitation staff.  Will also provide leadership to all staff to continually improve quality throughout the facility
  • Reviews weekly schedules for QA technicians and sanitation crew. Reviews sanitation schedule with sanitation coordinator. Assigns special duties as necessary
  • Conducts probationary and annual performance reviews with team members
  • Provides technical and administrative support
  • Aids in the development of quality standards and specifications for existing and new products with R&D
  • Leads the quality system for the facility
  • Reviews daily quality reports to ensure that all products meet quality specifications. All incidents concerning production of poor-quality products and customer complaints must be properly investigated, resolved and documented
  • Ensures quality standards and control parameters in all production departments
  • Works with purchasing department to test and monitor the existing or new ingredients/materials
  • Assists in developing and implementing the HACCP and SQF programs.  Ensures food safety procedures are followed and met
  • Provides technical support to projects such as Organic certification and Kosher certification
  • Works jointly with the production team to continually improve product quality and minimize rejects
  • Reviews budget and monitors monthly expenses of QA Department’s and Sanitation Department’s operation. Purchase laboratory supplies and equipment as deemed necessary
  • Ensures that the company mission and policies are adequately communicated to the QA technicians and sanitation employees
  • Works with R&D to establish QA specifications and monitors procedures for new and established products
  • Generate QA monthly reports and KPI’s as needed
  • Acts as point person for sanitation chemical supplier and pest control company
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Services


  • College or University Degree in Food Science or Diploma in a related discipline of study
  • Minimum of 3 year’s progressive supervisory and/or management experience
  • Strong computer application skills in MS office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal English 
  • Skilled at multitasking
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills built on a team-focused approach


  • Work is mainly performed in an office environment, with some work performed on the production floor or QA lab
  • Permanent Full-Time (40 hours per week) position.  Hours to be reviewed with the Director of Quality Services
