This all-time classic favourite gets a twist by including our Extra Firm Tofu in place of meat.

Ingredients
- 1 pkg Soyganic Extra Firm Tofu (350g) crumbled
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 15 mL (1 Tbsp) chili powder
- 30 mL (2 Tbsp) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 large green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 carrot, diced
- 30 mL (2 Tbsp) vegetable oil
- 625 mL (2 ½ cups) tomato sauce
- 1 x 395 mL can (1+2/3 cups) tomato paste
- 500 mL (2 cups) pinto beans or kidney beans, cooked
- 2 mL (1/2 tsp) dried basil, crushed
- 5 mL (1 tsp) cumin
- 5 mL (1 tsp) cayenne pepper
- 5 mL (1 tsp) sugar
- 5 mL (1 tsp) salt
Directions
- Combine Sunrise Extra Firm Tofu, garlic, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce. Set aside.
- In a pan on medium heat, sauté onion, green peppers, and carrots in vegetable oil until onions are soft.
- Add tofu mixture and sauté until tofu is browned.
- Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, cooked beans, basil, cumin, cayenne pepper, sugar, and salt. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve hot.
