Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Sunrise Extra Firm Tofu (350g) cut into ¼ inch slices
  • 1 ½ tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 ½ tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 ½ tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • ¼ tsp Cayenne powder
  • ¼ tsp Clove powder
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4-6 small pita bread
  • Tofu Tzatziki:
  • ½ pkg (225g) Sunrise Medium Firm Tofu
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup cucumber, grated
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • Parsley Salad:
  • 1 bunch of parsley, leaves only, washed and chopped
  • ½ English cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 small lemon, juiced
  • 1 ½ tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Tofu Tzatziki: In a blender, blend tofu with olive oil and lemon juice until smooth.
  2. Transfer tofu mixture to a bowl and mix in grated cucumber, garlic, and salt and pepper.
  3. Parsley Salad: Toss all ingredients together and refrigerate.
  4. Tofu Shawarma: Mix dry spices in medium bowl. Add sliced tofu, gently toss to coat tofu.
  5. Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan on medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and cook for 3 minutes, then add the spiced tofu and soy sauce. Fry for 2 minutes per side, or until tofu is golden brown on all sides.
  6. Serve in warm pita bread with parsley salad and tzatziki.
